1. What is Robomart?
Robomart is the world’s first store-hailing service, revolutionizing the retail industry by delivering the fastest and most convenient shopping experience to consumers through its fleet of on-demand mobile stores. Tap a button to hail a store on wheels in as little as two minutes and shop for all your daily essentials right at home.
2. How does it work?
With a one-tap ordering process, consumers hail a Robomart to their location using the proprietary app. When it arrives, the user swipes across the app to open the door to the vehicle. Robomart’s RFID-based checkout-free system allows consumers to handpick their selected products and simply walk away – without physically checking out and paying. The Robomart app is available on the iOS App Store and will be available on Android in the near future.
3. What types of Robomarts are currently available?
Our Pharmacy Robomart and Snacks Robomart Types are currently available for hailing. The Pharmacy Robomart includes shampoo, hand sanitizer, ibuprofen and more, and the ready-to-eat Snacks Robomart includes chocolate, chips, soda and more. We will be launching our Grocery Robomart and Cafe Robomart Types in the coming months and adding Fast Food Robomart and Ice Cream Robomart Types to our fleet by the end of 2022.
4. How fast is Robomart?
Since our consumer launch in June 2021, we recorded our fastest end-to-end experience, from the time a consumer opens the app to the time they have goods in hand, at under two minutes. The average time from a consumer hailing a Robomart to completion of sale is nine minutes.
5. Aren't robomarts just delivery vans?
Robomarts are contactless mobile stores that you can hail on-demand. Unlike delivery, Robomart literally brings the store to your door. It's a new category we call store-hailing, which is orders of magnitude faster and more convenient than delivery.
6. Why can't I just go to the supermarket?
With store-hailing you can get all your essentials in under ten minutes whenever you need them. There's no waiting in line, no lengthy checkout and no carrying heavy bags.
7. Why hail the store when I can have groceries delivered?
With delivery apps, you waste time creating a basket, waiting for a delivery window, and relying on someone else to pick your goods. With store-hailing, you're calling the store to you and shopping right at your doorstep for all your essentials in under ten minutes.
8. How is store-hailing that quick?
Store-hailing distributes inventory into moving vehicles and hyperlocal restocking stations to drastically increase speed and availability. With Robomart, we deliver the store to you in under 10 minutes.
9. How big can store-hailing be?
Store-hailing is the first new retail channel since e-commerce. For thirty years, we've either gone to the store or ordered goods online for delivery. Robomart has created a new way to shop that completely disrupts the massive retail industry and has the potential of being bigger than e-commerce.
10. How do you track purchases?
Our proprietary checkout-free system uses RFID sensors to track all products that are taken out of the robomart in real time. No need to scan products or swipe your card.
11. How much do you charge consumers?
We currently charge consumers a small hailing fee per order. Customers pay the same as in-store prices for goods, and there are no order minimums or tip requirements.
12. How many products do robomarts carry?
Robomarts each carry around 500 units of 50 different everyday essentials.
13. How do you ensure product quality?
Robomarts are temperature controlled to ensure product quality and are equipped with a suite of cameras that monitor inventory throughout the day. All products are pre-packaged for safety and robomarts go back to the restocking station several times a day, which ensures that products are never out for long.
14. What if the robomart arrives and is out of a product?
We track inventory in real-time on every Robomart. Our system doesn't assign a robomart if it is completely out of a product, so the robomart that comes to you will always have at least one of every item.
15. Where will robomarts park?
Much like ride-hailing services, robomarts will park as close to your driveway as possible. At times, robomarts may be double parked farther down your street, but you will be able to see the exact location on the app. Robomarts will wait for customers for up to five minutes.
16. Are robomarts autonomous?
Robomarts offer consumers a fully automated, checkout-free and contactless shopping experience. We have launched with drivers and in the future, we plan to add driverless vehicles to our fleet as regulations allow.
17. Is Robomart a retailer?
Robomart is not a retailer. Robomart is the first store-hailing service, powering next-minute delivery for retailers. Retailers can partner with us and be listed on the Robomart app and deploy their own branded mobile storefronts to reach customers in record time.
18. What does a retailer partnership with Robomart look like?
Providing a turn-key solution for retailers to reach consumers faster, Robomart manages nearly every aspect of the operating model. Retailers will decide which of their products to feature as SKUs within the scope of each Robomart Type, determine and set pricing of their products, have personalized, full vehicle branding and select from available operating zones in which to deploy. Utilizing restocking stations in each zone, Robomart will manage all product stocking, tagging, scanning, quality control and replenishment. Retailers will have access to a robust reporting dashboard to observe sales data and analytics.
19. How does a retailer connect with Robomart to become a partner?
Retailers can book any of six available Robomart Types: Snacks, Grocery, Pharmacy, Cafe, Ice Cream and Fast Food. For more information and to make a reservation, visit platform.robomart.co or reach out to CEO Ali Ahmed at ali@robomart.co.
20. Who is behind the venture?
Our founding team has deep domain expertise in on-demand delivery, food retailing and robotics, and we are backed by Wasabi Ventures, W Ventures, Turtle Ventures, Hustle Fund, Automation Fund, SOSV, Soma Ventures, and Archetype Ventures.
